After a warm and sunny Spring here in Scotland my tomato plants are ready to move on to their final pots or into the ground.

The healthy outward pointing roots are ready to burst out into their new home and power the continuing health and growth of the plant.

These young leek plants sown in an Air-Pot tray will be easy to plant out. The roots have been air-pruned unlike the long trailing roots on plants grown in standard containers – which can be awkward to handle.

An Air-Pot tray with strong young lettuce plants ready to set out in the ground or pot-on into larger containers.
Hey, how are you? I have noticed it has been a while since you last posted. Hope you are doing well 🙂 I love reading your blog and seeing how your garden is doing. It is great to see all the different varieties of plants that can be grown in air-pots. There is not a lot of information out there for consumers so this blog is a treasure trove of information 😀
Your post of february 2018 mentions you were trying to grow a Monstera deliciosa in an air-pot. How did that experiment go in the end? Did the air pruning work or did the air roots stick out of the pot on all sides?
Do you have any experience with growing bamboo in an air-pot? Just like with the Monstera I was wondering if the roots would just start sticking out of the holes.
