I have had a modest harvest of little Hokkaido squashes – gathered before the first frosts. They were grown in the big Air-Pot raised bed and have ripened ahead of my plants in the ground; perhaps due to more free-draining soil.

The bed has been immediately planted up with hardy over-wintering onion sets: Electric (red) & Radar (yellow). I am trying some additional onion sets in large Air-Pot containers, which will be moved into a greenhouse during the coldest weather, hopefully to produce an earlier crop.

I am also getting garlic off to an early start in 1 litre Air-Pot prop-pots.

There are some big trusses of cherry tomatoes (Ailsa Craig variety) weighing heavily in the polytunnel. The tops of the plants are hitting the roof and with some gentle heat the season should extend a little longer.
